Yemeni Citizen Foils Houthi Attack in Ibb, Kills Two Militants After Son’s Death
A Yemeni citizen, Naif Tahir Al-Osmani, thwarted a Houthi abduction attempt in Ibb governorate (central Yemen) and killed two of the attackers after they assaulted him at his home and killed his son.
According to local sources, the incident occurred on Wednesday in the "Kitab" area of the Yareem district, north of Ibb. Houthi armed vehicles surrounded Al-Osmani’s house and opened heavy fire on him, which led to the severe wounding of his youngest son, who later died in the hospital.
The sources added that Al-Osmani fought back against the Houthi assault, which seemed aimed at abducting him for unknown reasons. He exchanged fire with the militants, resulting in the death of two Houthi fighters, before fleeing the scene.
Later, the Houthi militia launched a series of abductions targeting several members of Al-Osmani’s family. They also ransacked his house and seized his belongings, including a "Prado" vehicle.
The sources confirmed that local residents managed to prevent the militia from blowing up Al-Osmani’s house after the Houthis brought in a demolition team.
