President Alimi Welcomes Trump’s Decision to Designate Houthis as Foreign Terrorist Organization and Pledges Cooperation for Humanitarian Aid Flow
Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to re-designate the Houthi militia, supported by the Iranian regime, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). In a statement on the social media platform X, Alimi reaffirmed the Yemeni government's commitment to work closely with the U.S. administration and the international community to implement this designation, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to Yemen.

Alimi stated, "The Yemeni people have long awaited justice, especially for those who have lost their lives, suffered torture, been unjustly imprisoned, had their homes destroyed, or were forced into exile. The Houthi militia’s designation as a terrorist organization marks the beginning of holding them accountable for their crimes, as a key step towards achieving peace and stability in Yemen and the region.

He expressed gratitude to President Trump for this historic decision and praised his commitment to ending wars and countering terrorist organizations worldwide. Alimi emphasized the urgent need for a global, collective approach to support the Yemeni government and to swiftly implement international resolutions, particularly UNSC Resolution 2216. He warned that any leniency toward the enemies of peace would only prolong the Houthi militia’s terrorist activities.

Alimi reiterated the importance of international cooperation in rebuilding Yemen and advancing the peace process, stressing that support for the Yemeni people is crucial to end the Houthi insurgency and restore stability to the region.
