Houthis Claim Hypersonic Ballistic Missile Strike on Israel's Ben Gurion Airport
The Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen announced on Wednesday that they launched a hypersonic ballistic missile targeting Ben Gurion Airport in the city of Yaffa, Israel, in what marks their third long-range missile attack within 24 hours.

According to the group's military spokesperson, the missile "successfully hit its target," forcing "millions of Israeli settlers into shelters" and halting air traffic at the airport for nearly an hour.

The Houthis stated that Tuesday night they had also launched a "Zulfiqar" ballistic missile at the same airport.

In response, the Israeli military reported intercepting a missile launched from Yemen and warned civilians to avoid approaching the ports of Hudaydah, As-Salif, and Ras Isa in Yemen, hinting at imminent strikes on those locations.

The escalation comes amid rising regional tensions over the war in Gaza and the Houthis’ ongoing campaign against Israeli-linked targets.
