Senior Houthi Official Slams Leadership: “Ten Years of Nothing But Decorating Shrines!”

In a rare and scathing public critique, Saleh Habrah, a senior figure in Yemen’s Houthi movement, launched a direct attack on the group’s leadership via a post on his official Facebook page, accusing them of deception, manipulation, and failing to deliver any meaningful development over the past decade.

Habrah questioned the group’s achievements since their takeover, sarcastically pointing out that the only visible projects are “decorated domes and shrines.” He warned the leadership: “One day the people will uncover your tricks and lies—and your power won’t save you then.”

Observers view these remarks as a significant indication of growing internal discontent within the Houthi ranks, as well as escalating public frustration over deteriorating living conditions and the absence of real governance in areas under their control.

The criticism sheds light on potential rifts within the group and raises the possibility of internal upheaval if the current trajectory continues unchecked.
