Massive Israeli Airstrike Hits Hodeidah Port: 12th Attack on Houthis Since War Began

The Israeli army launched a wide-scale airstrike early Monday targeting Houthi positions in Yemen, specifically striking Hodeidah Port — marking the 12th attack since the war began on October 7, 2023.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated: “The IDF is currently striking terrorist infrastructure of the Houthi regime at the port to prevent its reactivation for military use.”

According to the Israeli army, the airstrike destroyed:

  • Engineering equipment used for port reconstruction,

  • Fuel tanks,

  • Ships and boats allegedly involved in military activities against Israel and global shipping.

The army emphasized that the port has been used by the Houthis to smuggle Iranian weapons and plan attacks against Israel and its allies.

Gallant reiterated: “Yemen is under the same law as Tehran. The Houthis will pay a heavy price for launching missiles on Israel. We will operate at any time and any place to defend our nation.”

Witnesses reported loud explosions in the vicinity of Hodeidah Port, which had been under repair after previous strikes.
