Yemen’s Ambassador in Ankara Meets Turkish Religious Affairs Head: Focus on Education and Combating Houthi Distortion of Islam
Yemen’s Ambassador to Turkey, Mohammed Tariq, met today with the President of Turkish Religious Affairs, Dr. Ali Erbaş, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in religious and educational fields.
During the meeting, Ambassador Tariq reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, highlighting the humanitarian and economic challenges caused by the Houthi coup, particularly the destruction of educational infrastructure and the deliberate distortion of Islamic principles.
He stressed that the Houthi militias have been embedding extremist ideologies into school curricula and using so-called “cultural centers” to indoctrinate children with radical beliefs foreign to both Islam and Yemeni society.
