Historic Mukalla Agreement Freezes Tensions in Hadramout Under Direct Saudi Oversight

The city of Mukalla witnessed, on Wednesday evening, the signing of a comprehensive agreement between the Hadramout local authority and the Hadramout Tribal Alliance, in the presence of a prominent mediation committee composed of sheikhs, dignitaries, and social figures, and under the direct supervision of the Saudi “Special Committee,” which arrived specifically for this purpose.

The agreement, signed on December 3, 2025, aims to put an end to recent military and security tensions, reaffirming an immediate return to calm, halting media incitement, and focusing on the higher interests of the governorate and its people.

Parties to the Agreement

  • First Party: The Local Authority of Hadramout, represented by Governor Salim Ahmed Al-Khanbashi

  • Second Party: Sheikh Amr bin Ali bin Habrish Al-Aliy, First Deputy Governor of Hadramout, Chairman of the Hadramout Inclusive Conference, and Head of the Hadramout Tribes Alliance
