Qatar Emir Meets Syria's New President Ahmed Sharaa in Damascus
Today, in the Syrian capital of Damascus, Syrian President Ahmed Sharaa welcomed Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, marking the first visit by a foreign leader to Syria since Sharaa assumed the presidency after the fall of the Assad regime.
The Emir was greeted by President Sharaa, along with Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Bashir, Foreign Minister Asad Al-Shibani, Defense Minister Merhaf Abu Kasra, and members of the Qatari Embassy in Damascus.
The Emir is accompanied by an official delegation, and discussions are expected to center around Qatari investments in Syria, with a particular focus on opportunities in the energy sector.
