Qatar Economic Forum 2025 Kicks Off in Doha: Paving the Road to 2030

The 5th edition of the Qatar Economic Forum officially opened today in Doha under the theme "A Road to 2030: Transforming the Global Economy." The event gathered international leaders, investors, and economists to discuss the evolving challenges and opportunities in the global financial landscape.

In his opening address, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani highlighted that the forum takes place amid unprecedented global political and economic shifts, stressing the need for collaborative platforms to shape unified responses.

He reaffirmed Qatar’s role as a trusted partner in energy and diplomacy, and noted that the Qatari economy recorded a 2.4% real growth in 2024.

The Prime Minister also announced the launch of the first incentive package for investors, along with a new international economic project set to roll out this year.

Touching on the ongoing war in Gaza, Sheikh Mohammed warned that Israeli bombardments are undermining peace prospects, and confirmed that Qatar is actively working with the U.S. and Egypt to secure a ceasefire and the release of hostages.
