Saudi Fake Account Scandal: Reports Reveal Houthi Intelligence Running a Massive Digital Blackmail Network
Reliable sources have uncovered shocking details about a large network of explicit-content accounts on the “X” platform, appearing under fake Saudi female identities but actually operated by Houthi intelligence elements from inside Yemen.
According to the sources, thousands of such accounts were created over recent years to lure Saudi citizens and extort them financially using compromising images and videos. The so-called Houthi “Security and Intelligence Service” reportedly supervises these accounts directly and forces their operators to share profits generated from the extortion schemes.
The sources added that Houthi intelligence operatives manage dozens of accounts themselves and coordinate with real Saudi women—threatened and coerced into cooperation—to receive the extorted money through their bank accounts.
A new location-tracking feature launched by the “X” platform recently exposed the true locations of hundreds of thousands of accounts impersonating Saudi personalities but operating from Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, and the UAE.
"What is happening in Yemen? What caused the war? And who ignited it?
