Al-Alimi Warns STC Against Imposing Parallel Authority by Force: Partnership Will Not Turn into Rebellion
Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, has strongly warned against the recent unilateral measures taken by the Southern Transitional Council (STC), describing them as a “dangerous gamble” that has reached an unprecedented level.

Speaking during a meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and heads of diplomatic missions, Al-Alimi said that pushing state institutions to issue political statements beyond their constitutional mandates threatens national decision-making unity and the legal standing of the state.

According to Yemen’s official news agency SABA, Al-Alimi cautioned that these actions are steering the country toward the imposition of a fait accompli and the creation of a parallel authority by force, warning of severe political and security consequences.

He urged all parties, including the international community, to act to prevent Yemen from sliding into a new internal conflict, stressing that such a scenario would primarily benefit the Houthi militias and terrorist networks.

Al-Alimi reaffirmed that political partnership cannot under any circumstances turn into rebellion against the state, emphasizing that sovereign political positions are determined exclusively by the Presidential Leadership Council and constitutionally mandated institutions, in line with the Power Transfer Declaration and the Riyadh Agreement.
