Houthis Detain Intelligence Officers Over Leaked Spy Information in Marib
The Houthi militia has detained several officers from its security and intelligence apparatus after accusing them of leaking the names and details of its spies in Marib province.
According to sources close to the situation, the Houthis arrested officers from their recently formed security and intelligence unit, which combines three intelligence branches: Political Security, Preventive Security, and National Security. This follows a leak that exposed the identities of their spies in Marib.
The Houthis expressed concern for the safety of their agents in the province after their identities were revealed.
Sources also noted that the Houthis have been replacing former employees from key positions with loyalist members, while sidelining original staff to less significant roles, continuing their ongoing process of staffing replacement.
The sources revealed that most of the detained officers are from the Communications Unit within Political Security, which had failed to safeguard critical intelligence plans aimed at toppling Marib, contributing to the deaths of 60,000 Houthi fighters without achieving any substantial results, following breaches of their intelligence operations.
