Yemeni Army Shoots Down Houthi Drone Amid Escalation in Marib
The Yemeni National Army's air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone launched by Iran-backed Houthi militias. The attack targeted military positions in the northwestern region of Marib.

Military sources confirmed that the drone was carrying explosives intended to inflict significant damage on equipment and personnel. However, the army's defense systems neutralized it before it could reach its targets.

This attack comes amid ongoing military escalation in Marib, where Houthi militias have intensified their offensive operations. Using drones and ballistic missiles, they have been targeting both military sites and residential areas.

Recent weeks have seen a surge in Houthi attacks on Marib, resulting in civilian casualties and widespread destruction of infrastructure.

Government forces have reiterated their readiness to thwart any Houthi attempts to advance toward Marib, a region of strategic importance and a key energy hub in Yemen.

The escalation in Marib coincides with continued Houthi attacks on civilians in Taiz and Hodeidah, highlighting their disregard for international calls for de-escalation and engagement in political negotiations to end the conflict in Yemen.
