Yemeni MP Slams Iran’s Lies: “Support for Houthis Is a Fact, Not an Accusation”

During the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Parliamentary Union conference in Jakarta, Yemeni MP and head of the Islah Party parliamentary bloc, Abdulrazzaq Al-Hajri, forcefully rejected the Iranian delegate’s claim that “most Yemenis support the Houthi militia.”

Al-Hajri emphasized that all Yemenis oppose the Houthis, stating, “Only Iran stands with them.” He accused Iran of fueling the conflict by providing the militia with weapons and funding, and said this support is a documented reality known to the world.

Highlighting Houthi crimes, Al-Hajri questioned, “How can those who kill their own people, destroy homes, mosques, and schools, and violate the dignity of women claim to defend the dignity of Palestinians?”

He listed numerous violations committed by the Houthis, including forced displacement, child soldier recruitment, and looting of state institutions. Al-Hajri stressed that the war is not merely political, but a battle to protect the republic and national identity.

He called on Islamic nations to increase their support for Yemen’s legitimate government and take a firm stance against Iranian-backed militias that threaten regional stability.
