Diplomatic escalation.. Saudi Arabia expels Iranian military attachés amid rising tensions
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Iranian military attaché and his assistant, along with three embassy staff members, have been declared persona non grata and ordered to leave the Kingdom within 24 hours.

The ministry stated that the move comes in response to ongoing Iranian attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, describing them as a serious escalation and a clear violation of international law and principles of good neighborliness.

According to the statement, the Iranian attacks have targeted civilian infrastructure, economic facilities, and diplomatic premises, in breach of international agreements, including UN Security Council Resolution 2817.

The decision follows continued escalation, as Saudi air defenses reportedly intercepted seven drones heading toward the Eastern Province in recent hours.

Saudi Arabia reaffirmed that it will take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and national security, emphasizing its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
