Yemen-Saudi Economic Cooperation Talks in Mecca: Vision 2030
A wide-ranging meeting was held today in Mecca, chaired by Yemen's Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammed Al-Ashwal, with the participation of the Yemeni Business Council, Yemeni businessmen, and investors. The meeting discussed Yemen's participation in the upcoming Yemen-Saudi Business Council talks, set to begin tomorrow, Sunday, and last for three days in Mecca, under the theme "Saudi Vision, Yemeni Development 2030."
The meeting, attended by the head of the Yemeni side in the Business Council, Abdulmajid Al-Saadi, focused on ways to strengthen trade relations between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. The discussions aimed to support Yemen's economy through joint investment projects in various sectors such as industry, agriculture, fisheries, and integrated infrastructure services. The importance of experience exchange between the two countries was emphasized, alongside addressing challenges and exploring available investment opportunities to enhance economic cooperation, trade exchange, and create a business-friendly environment to boost Yemen's economic development.
Minister Al-Ashwal stressed the significance of these talks, which aim to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. He noted that the success of the council will serve as a starting point for similar councils with other countries. He also highlighted the importance of joint coordination and cooperation within the council and addressing challenges in a collective manner.
Furthermore, Al-Ashwal stated that the council represents an important step toward achieving economic integration between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, and serves as a new beginning for cooperation in multiple fields and exploring available investment opportunities. He pointed out that Yemeni investments are ranked 13th among the investing countries in Saudi Arabia, reflecting the importance of these initiatives for advancing Yemen’s economy.
