U.S. Airstrikes Target Houthi Sites in Hudaydah and Sana’a
U.S. aircraft carried out an airstrike early this Sunday targeting a military site belonging to the Houthi group in the al-Lahiah district in northern Hudaydah. Local sources confirmed that the airstrike targeted Jabal al-Jadha in the coastal area along the Red Sea. The Houthi group, in response, announced that American and British aircraft had bombed their positions, but did not provide details on the damages or casualties from the attack.

The U.S. Central Command confirmed that the precise airstrikes targeted a missile storage facility and a command-and-control center operated by the Houthis in areas under their control in Sana’a. The purpose of these strikes was to disrupt Houthi military capabilities, particularly those related to attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The operation also involved the downing of several attacking drones and anti-ship cruise missiles. U.S. forces, including F/A-18 fighter jets and EA-18G "Growler" aircraft, participated in the operation, which was launched from the aircraft carrier "Truman."

Meanwhile, Houthi media reported heavy airstrikes on areas in Sana’a, specifically in the Atan region and the al-Hafa camp. Local residents confirmed hearing massive explosions in the southern parts of the capital. Since November, the Iran-backed Houthis have intensified attacks using drones and missiles against shipping vessels in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb, justifying these attacks as support for Gaza. In response, the U.S. and the U.K. have conducted airstrikes targeting Houthi military assets.
