Hameed Al-Ahmar: "The Houthi Coup Will Inevitably Come to an End"
Yemeni businessman and Member of Parliament Hameed Al-Ahmar stated on Monday, December 23, following a visit to Riyadh, that he never doubted the inevitable end of "the Houthi coup and its inflated presence, regardless of the circumstances." He highlighted the shifting stance of the international community.
Al-Ahmar noted that he departed from what he called the "capital of Arab decision-making" after spending several days meeting with Yemeni leaders. These meetings coincided with growing public demands and pressures to capitalize on international and regional developments to end the Houthi coup and restore the state.
In a post on the X platform, Al-Ahmar expressed great optimism about the discussions held in Riyadh. He remarked that the Houthis "squandered the valuable peace opportunity sincerely pursued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
He added that the Houthis' military mobilization and reckless statements would not alter the decisive decision to end their coup. "These actions will only increase the cost for them and their regime," he said.
Furthermore, he stated, "Such behavior confirms that the Houthis are still incapable of realistically interpreting developments and that reason within this group remains entirely absent."
