Former Lawyer Mohamed Al-Masouri Criticizes Attacks in Yemen: "They Strengthen the Houthis
The former lawyer of the late President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Mohamed Al-Masouri, sharply criticized the recent attacks in Yemen, stating that they do not effectively target the Houthi militia and its leaders, particularly Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi. Al-Masouri described these operations as a "joke," emphasizing that they serve the Houthis and strengthen them rather than weakening them.
In a series of tweets on his Twitter account, Al-Masouri questioned: "Did they target Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi? Of course not." He added that these attacks never target their headquarters or any of their leaders, even though the locations are known and their movements are being tracked.
Al-Masouri asserted that attacking the properties and resources of the Yemeni people cannot be considered a strike against the Houthis, but rather a "laughable act." He emphasized that these operations directly benefit the Houthis, contributing to the strengthening of their influence rather than undermining their power.
He also pointed out that continuing these operations in this manner makes the parties executing them appear as indirect allies of the Houthis, raising doubts about the real goals and effectiveness of these attacks.
Al-Masouri called for a comprehensive review of the objectives and strategies behind these operations to ensure that they are effectively targeting the real enemy and serving the interests of the Yemeni people, rather than being a mere show of force.
Al-Masouri's statements come amid a worsening situation in Yemen, where the country has been embroiled in a bloody conflict for years, and the interests of regional and international parties often clash.
