Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula Confirms Death of Key Leaders in U.S. Airstrike in Shabwa
Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has confirmed the death of several prominent leaders in a U.S. airstrike targeting the group's positions in Shabwa, southern Yemen.

In a statement posted on the platform "X," the group confirmed the deaths of "Mohammed bin Salih Al-Mughī," known as "Abu Ali Al-Dais," and his companion "Amar bin Salih bin Mohammed Al-Aulaki," also known as "Abu Salih Al-Deyouli." The statement indicated that the airstrike was carried out by an American drone targeting their positions in Shabwa.

The group highlighted that Al-Mughī was one of AQAP's most senior leaders in Yemen, having fought in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. The statement also mentioned that Al-Mughī had been previously detained in Syria and later in Sana'a before being released and returning to fight again in southern Yemen.
