Houthi Leader’s Son Killed in U.S. Airstrike on Sana’a
A U.S. airstrike targeting the home of senior Houthi figure Saleh al-Suhaili in the Shu'ub district of Sana’a has reportedly resulted in the death of his eldest son, Jalal al-Suhaili, along with 13 others, including several Houthi officials who were attending a meeting at the residence.

According to the Farsi-language website "Yemen al-Islam", Jalal was a student sent by the Houthis to study in Iran and was an active member of the group’s overseas youth wing “Shabab al-Mahdi”. He had returned to Yemen months ago after studying in the religious seminaries of Qom and Mashhad.

Jalal al-Suhaili had previously appeared in a public event in Iran titled “The Global Suleimani Generation,” where he praised former Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, calling him “a kind father, a sincere teacher, and a wise brother”—expressions reflecting deep ideological alignment with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard narrative.

During the event, he spoke about the “economic war” facing the so-called Resistance Axis and praised Iran’s resilience, stating that Yemen would follow suit—demonstrating his adoption of Iranian propaganda and his role in promoting Tehran’s influence among Yemeni youth.

Jalal was known as a vocal supporter of Ansar Allah and represented the Houthi movement in religious student forums in Iran, further indicating Tehran’s strategy of cultivating loyal Yemeni elites to advance its regional agenda.
