Houthi Intelligence Network Operates in Oman for Arms Smuggling and Military Support
ntelligence reports have revealed that the Houthi group has established an intelligence network in Muscat, Oman, to coordinate arms smuggling, military technology transfers, and logistical support across the Yemen-Oman border. This network operates under the guise of humanitarian and diplomatic activities.
The network is managed by senior Houthi leaders, including Mohammed Abdulsalam, the group's spokesperson, and Hilal Al-Nafish, who oversees operations in Oman. They are assisted by members of the Houthi "jihadi preventive security" apparatus, who operate under civilian and diplomatic cover.
The network facilitates the smuggling of various military components, including drones and explosives, through Oman into Yemen. These components are often assembled in Houthi-controlled areas using locally available materials and commercially sourced parts.
Additionally, the network is involved in the movement of Houthi leaders between Yemen and Iran, utilizing forged documents and clandestine routes. This activity raises concerns about Oman's neutrality and its role in the ongoing conflict.
