Israeli Airstrikes Hit Hodeidah: 4 Killed, 39 Injured in Direct Response to Houthi Missile Attack
At least four people were killed and 39 others injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen’s western Hodeidah province on Monday night, according to the Houthi-run Ministry of Health.
The attacks came in retaliation for a ballistic missile launched by Houthi forces at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv—a significant escalation in the ongoing regional tensions.
According to local sources and media reports, Israeli warplanes launched dozens of airstrikes on key sites, including Hodeidah Port, Bajil Cement Factory, and the neighborhoods of As-Salakhana and Al-Hawk within the city of Hodeidah.
The Israeli military confirmed it had carried out the strikes, stating that they were aimed at disrupting Houthi capabilities. Reuters quoted five residents who reported over ten airstrikes across various locations in the city.
An Israeli security source told Channel 12 that 48 bombs were dropped on more than ten targets, calling the strike on Hodeidah Port “a severe blow.”
Meanwhile, Israel Hayom reported—citing another security official—that the attack was conducted in eight waves, involving dozens of Israeli fighter jets. It also noted that American forces simultaneously carried out strikes on Houthi positions, signaling coordinated military action.
The strikes mark one of the most significant escalations since the Houthis began launching drones and missiles toward Israel, claiming solidarity with Gaza amidst the ongoing conflict there.
