Bloody Clashes in Al-Yatmah Between Houthi Militants and Tribal Fighters Leave 4 Dead, 3 Injured
Fierce clashes erupted in the Al-Yatmah area, north of Al-Jawf province in northeastern Yemen, between Houthi militants and local tribal gunmen.

According to local sources, the confrontation began when Houthi forces stormed several homes in the district, forcibly displaced residents, and set one house on fire. In retaliation, tribal fighters launched an attack on a Houthi checkpoint in the Al-Yatmah area of Khabb wa ash-Sha'af district, triggering intense firefights with medium and light weapons.

The clashes resulted in the deaths of four people from both sides and left three others wounded, including a civilian who happened to be near the scene.

A mediation committee composed of tribal elders and local dignitaries managed to temporarily halt the violence. However, the situation remains tense and is at risk of reigniting at any moment.

This incident highlights the Houthis’ ongoing campaign of repression against tribal communities in their areas of control, as part of efforts to impose sectarian dominance.
