Turkey Strengthens Defense Capabilities Amid Potential Israel Confrontation

Turkey has taken a series of strategic measures in recent weeks to prepare for a potential confrontation with Israel. The government has focused on three main areas: developing multi-layered air defense systems, strengthening internal security, and building shelters resistant to nuclear threats.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan unveiled the “Steel Dome” air defense system, which consists of 47 vehicles and costs approximately half a billion dollars. Erdoğan emphasized that recent regional conflicts highlighted the importance of advanced radar and integrated air defense systems.

In addition, Roketsan introduced the “Typhoon Block 4” hypersonic missile, while Turkey enhanced its airstrike capabilities through the acquisition of 40 Eurofighter jets from Germany.

Turkey has also begun constructing nuclear-resistant shelters across all 81 provinces and has intensified efforts to secure internal stability by combating terrorist and organized threats. These measures aim to strengthen Turkey’s position as a key regional and global actor.
