Yemen’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor announced on Sunday, December 21, 2025, its full and unconditional support for all political and military steps taken by the Southern Transitional Council (STC), declaring its commitment to operate under the Council’s leadership toward the establishment of a “Southern Arab State.”
In a statement issued from Aden, the ministry said that all its offices, departments, and affiliated funds across southern provinces fully endorse the actions of the STC and its armed forces, praising what it described as military gains achieved in Wadi and Desert Hadramout and Al-Mahra governorates.
The ministry emphasized that its administrative and institutional operations remain stable and uninterrupted, noting that officials at all levels continue to perform their duties with high discipline and without any disruption to public services.
The statement further asserted that the leadership of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor is an integral part of the Southern Transitional Council and affirmed its readiness to support any political decisions made by the STC leadership under its president, Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, including the declaration of a Southern Arab State.
The ministry called on the Arab Coalition, regional and neighboring countries, the international community, and United Nations organizations to respect what it described as the southern people’s right to self-determination, stressing that it would not retreat from this demand.
