Houthi Group Buries 17 Fighters, Including Key Military Figures, Amid Ongoing Losses
Last week, the Houthi group buried 17 of its fighters who were killed in clashes with government forces on multiple fronts in the western coast, Marib, Taiz, and Al-Dhali. The list included prominent military names, including First Lieutenant Rashed Mohammed Al-Rashidi and Second Lieutenant Hashim Al-Hajwa, although no specific details were disclosed regarding the location and time of their deaths.
In the past three days, 8 additional Houthi fighters were killed, reflecting a rise in casualties within the group. This was preceded by the burial of 5 other members, including a colonel and a captain, indicating the ongoing battles' impact on the group's military leadership.
According to media sources, the group admitted to significant losses in its ranks during November, having lost 31 fighters, most of them officers, marking a 6% decrease compared to the previous month.
Statistics showed that 94% of the casualties were field commanders, reflecting the direct impact of the clashes on the group's military structure.
Military sources estimate that more than 152 Houthi fighters were killed in September and October, including 85 commanders in American strikes. The group continues to avoid revealing the details of its casualties for fear of damaging the morale of newly recruited fighters.
The Houthis continue to reinforce their fronts with new fighters, exploiting the current circumstances to recruit them under the pretext of supporting the Palestinian cause. The group's leader had previously acknowledged their losses, stating that 73 had been killed and 181 wounded since the start of attacks supported by the group.
