Yemeni Political Analyst: A Third Party Ready to Liberate Sana’a and Form a Transitional Government
Yemeni political analyst Abdul Salam Mohammed has revealed that a third party is ready to take control of the battlefield and lead the resistance to retake Sana’a if the Presidential Leadership Council fails to reform and direct the army towards the capital. In a post on the social media platform "X," the head of the A'baad Strategic Studies Center warned that this third party possesses the strength to form a transitional government and completely sideline the Presidential Council.
Abdul Salam Mohammed advised the Presidential Leadership Council: "Either fix your house and lead the army to Sana’a, or there is a third party ready and strong in the field, which will lead the resistance and army to retake Sana’a, form a transitional government, and you will remain in hotels for the rest of your lives. Even if you return, you will be ordinary citizens. The Syrian opposition coalition should be a lesson to you."
In his analysis, Mohammed drew a comparison with what happened in Syria during the civil war, where third parties emerged to challenge the ruling regime. He stated, "Yemenis will not wait for you to wake up from your slumber, solve your problems, and search for funding, partners, and weapons for the war, or a green light from here or there!" He warned that the Yemeni people would not allow this opportunity to slip away, just as the Syrian opposition received international support to confront the regime.
He also said, "Fear God for your people who have suffered immensely at the hands of the Iranian occupation with its new Imam project (the Houthis). Hurry and write your history before Yemen rejects you." He emphasized that the "green light" had already been given by the people, who are holding a revolution in their hearts, ready to explode. Mohammed highlighted that "the entire Yemeni people are your army, and the people will fund the liberation of the country."
Finally, he concluded his warning by saying, "The coming days will tell us whether you are helpless or heroes. The doors of Sana’a are wide open for a great victory, which will mark the eternal end of the Houthi tribal regime that has long allied with invaders to exterminate Yemenis."
Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh’s Role
This statement indirectly alluded to the recent movements of Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, the son of the late former president. In recent months, some have hoped that his involvement could signal a potential savior for Yemen, given the deep divisions between the Houthis and the legitimate government. Abdul Salam Mohammed, however, pointed out that despite these developments, he does not consider Ahmed Ali to be the "third military force" capable of tipping the scales of the ongoing conflict. Mohammed explained: "Ahmed Ali may play a role in the post-Houthi era, possibly by establishing a political party or participating in the general political scene, but he is not the candidate to lead a military solution in the current conflict."
