The United States Targets Iranian Revolutionary Guard Leaders in Sana'a: Airstrikes Hit Houthi Sites
The Iranian agency "Fiyuver" reported that the United States carried out an operation on December 16, targeting two senior leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in an airstrike on the capital, Sana'a.
The agency did not mention the names of the leaders or their specific roles in Yemen.
On the same day, U.S. warplanes launched airstrikes against sites and facilities linked to the Houthi group, classified as a terrorist organization, in Sana'a. On the evening of last Friday, U.S. fighter jets continued their strikes, targeting several sites, including the Nahda area maintenance camp, the former 1st Armored Division headquarters, and Sana'a International Airport. Houthi media, in response, stated that the attack targeted the "21st September Park headquarters," referring to the former 1st Armored Division headquarters.
Since November 19, the Houthi group has been conducting naval attacks towards Israel, claiming that these actions are in support of Gaza. However, Red Sea coastal countries report significant damages resulting from these operations.
In a detailed analysis published earlier by "Yemen Daily News," it was confirmed that the Houthi attacks have not had a positive impact on Gaza, and Israel emerged as the least economically affected country among the Red Sea coastal states. The analysis revealed that only 11 out of 120 ships targeted by the Houthis were damaged, with one ship hijacked, two sinking, and the remaining seven suffering only minor damages.
