UN Special Envoy Grundberg Discusses Yemen Crisis with Omani Officials
The United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, met with Omani officials in Muscat to discuss the latest developments in the Yemen crisis. The meeting comes amidst ongoing challenges in implementing the roadmap agreed upon by Saudi Arabia and the Houthis after rounds of negotiations mediated by Oman.

According to a statement by the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Undersecretary for Political Affairs Khalifa Al-Harthi, along with other ministry officials, discussed with Grundberg the current regional developments and the latest updates on the Yemen issue.

The talks also addressed efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis. However, no further details about the discussions were disclosed.

Meanwhile, Reuters correspondent Mohammed Al-Ghubari reported that the UN envoy is expected to arrive in Sana’a tomorrow. Grundberg is anticipated to bring new ideas to revive the stalled peace process, as well as updates on developments in the Red Sea and the region.

It is worth noting that Grundberg’s last visit to Sana’a was in May 2023, making this upcoming visit particularly significant.
