Deadly Houthi Assault in Al-Bayda: Civilians Under Siege
A civilian was killed and 12 others, including three women, were injured today in an attack carried out by Iran-backed Houthi militias on the "Henka" area in Al-Quraishyah District, located in the Rada'a region of Al-Bayda Governorate in central Yemen.

The militias targeted the Al-Khasha’a area of the Al-Masoud tribe using heavy weaponry, including drones. They also imposed a severe blockade on the region, preventing the entry of medical supplies and hindering efforts to provide first aid to the injured, amidst the complete absence of healthcare facilities.

According to a reporter from "Al-Masdar Online," tribal fighters confronted the attack, leading to ongoing clashes between the two sides.

For the fifth consecutive day, the Houthi militias have besieged the Henka area, escalating tensions since a significant military campaign was deployed to the district a week ago. This campaign, allegedly launched to capture "wanted individuals," included massive reinforcements such as tanks and armored vehicles, sparking intermittent skirmishes in the region.

Despite mediation efforts by tribal leaders to de-escalate the situation, these attempts have faltered as the Houthis continue their military escalation and bombardment of the area.

Local residents accused the militias of obstructing mediation efforts, further exacerbating their suffering amid growing fears of a worsening humanitarian situation.

These incidents are part of a series of violations committed by Houthi militias across Yemen, which have persisted since their armed coup over a decade ago.
