A total of 41 hafiz (Quran memorizers) and hafiza (female Quran memorizers) have qualified for the "Read and Elevate" Grand Quran Competition, which is organized by the Quran Memorization and Teaching Sector of the Ministry of Endowments and Guidance. The competition will commence next Sunday in the temporary capital, Aden.

In an interview with the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Sheikh Hassan Al-Sheikh, the Undersecretary of the Quran Memorization Sector, explained that these participants qualified through preliminary eliminations held in the ministry’s branches across the liberated governorates, followed by the central competition that took place in Aden last Wednesday and Thursday. A total of 85 hafiz and hafiza participated in the central competition.

Al-Sheikh highlighted the fierce competition that took place across various categories, including Quranic recitations, memorization for both adults and children, as well as the disciplines of recitation and adhan (call to prayer). He emphasized that this high level of competition led to the successful qualification for the grand "Read and Elevate" competition, which will be broadcast during the holy month of Ramadan on satellite channels

Furthermore, Al-Sheikh stated that the winners of the final competition will have the honor of representing Yemen in international competitions for Quran memorization and recitation. He also expressed appreciation for the support and interest of the ministry’s leadership, as well as the committees that contributed to the success of all stages leading up to the grand final.
