Anti-Terrorism Unit in Aden Implements New Import Regulations and Fees for Yemen’s Ports
The Anti-Terrorism Unit in Aden, Yemen’s temporary capital, has announced the implementation of new regulations and financial fees for all imports coming into Yemen's ports.
According to a statement from the unit, these measures aim to enhance the security and safety of Yemen's maritime ports. The new policy will require a pre-declaration of all goods being imported into Yemen, starting from February 1, 2025.
Under the new system, exporters must obtain a pre-declaration of goods through the approved platform in Yemen. Additionally, the declaration must be obtained from the loading port by the shipper or shipping agent.
The statement confirmed that a reference certificate (ACD) must be acquired, and a fee ranging from 100 to150 per container will be charged.
The unit also noted that penalties would be imposed on non-compliant shipments, which could include delays in customs clearance, confiscation of goods, or their return to the country of origin
