Yemeni Presidential Council Plans to Replace Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Mubarak
According to media sources, the Yemeni Presidential Council is working on a plan to remove Prime Minister Ahmed A. Bin Mubarak, with an agreement already in place to appoint the current Minister of Finance, Salim Bin Breik, as his replacement.
The sources informed the "Min Al Akher" program, which aired on Yemen Shabab TV yesterday evening, that the plan is ready and awaiting approval from Saudi Arabia. The plan has received the approval of five members of the council, with only one member opposing it.
The President of the Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, held a meeting with Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, to discuss the government changes. Discussions were also held with foreign ambassadors to strengthen this plan.
A meeting with the U.S. Ambassador was held to address the economic crises facing the country and the government's failure to handle these challenges.
Signs of escalating tensions between the Prime Minister and the President of the Presidential Council have emerged, especially following the power outage in Aden, which has increased pressure on Bin Mubarak.
The Minister of Civil Service expressed concern about a systematic campaign targeting the government.
It is noteworthy that Bin Mubarak presented a government reform plan during an international ministerial meeting, but disagreements over the financial budget with members of the Presidential Council led to the deterioration of relations between the two parties.
