Prominent Saudi Al-Qaeda Leader Killed in U.S. Airstrike in Shabwa, Yemen
A prominent Saudi Al-Qaeda leader, Abu Muhammad al-Hazli al-Makki, was killed in a U.S. airstrike targeting an Al-Qaeda stronghold in Yemen’s Shabwa governorate.

According to the "RIA Novosti" news agency, the drone strike, carried out by a U.S. unmanned aerial vehicle, occurred on Wednesday in the Al-Musin’a area of the Al-Said district, south of the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa.

Al-Hazli's death marks a significant point in the U.S. campaign against Al-Qaeda, following days after the death of Al-Qaeda’s warlord "Abu Ali al-Disi," the emir of the Qifa region, who was killed in a previous U.S. airstrike in the same province.

The recent developments indicate an escalation of military operations, as another Al-Qaeda member, "Abu Yusuf al-Mohammadi," was killed in a bomb-laden motorcycle explosion in the Al-Semda area of Al-Wadi district, east of Marib city.

The increasing number of airstrikes targeting Al-Qaeda leaders and operatives reflects the U.S. counterterrorism strategy in the region
