Dr. Amir Galib Appointed as First Yemeni-American U.S. Ambassador to Kuwait

The U.S. Department of State has officially appointed Dr. Amir Galib, a Yemeni-American, as the new U.S. Ambassador to Kuwait, making him the first individual of Yemeni descent to hold such a senior diplomatic post in American history.

Dr. Galib received his official diplomatic accreditation after successfully completing all legal and professional requirements, including the Ambassadorial Training Program, which he concluded earlier this month.

This milestone is hailed as a historic achievement for the Yemeni-American community, and a reflection of the growing diversity within the U.S. government, especially in high-ranking diplomatic roles.

Dr. Galib is expected to assume his duties in Kuwait in the coming weeks, replacing the outgoing ambassador, in a move aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties between the United States and Kuwait.
