Deepening Rift in Yemen's Presidential Council: Five-Member Bloc Demands Leadership Rotation
Tensions within Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council have escalated, with a five-member bloc calling for a rotation of the council's chairmanship, accusing President Rashad al-Alimi of monopolizing decision-making and excluding other members.

According to Belqees TV, Saudi Arabia has called for an urgent meeting in Riyadh in early July to address the growing internal divisions.

The bloc includes Tareq Saleh, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Abdullah al-Alimi, Faraj al-Bahsani, and Abu Zara’a al-Muharrami, who are reportedly pushing to raise the rotation issue during the upcoming meeting.

The political bureau of the National Resistance, led by Tareq Saleh, also criticized recent selective meetings chaired by al-Alimi, urging equal participation for all political actors and an end to exclusionary practices.

The National Resistance further called on the Council to operate under legal frameworks and national responsibility to protect institutional integrity.
