Breaking: Red Cross Announces the Unilateral Release of 113 Detainees in Sana'a
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced today, Thursday, the unilateral release of 113 detainees by the Houthi group.

In a statement, the ICRC confirmed: "Today in Sana'a, 113 detainees were released unilaterally," without disclosing their identities.

The ICRC added that the detainees released were among those who the organization regularly visits and provides assistance to in Sana'a.

Daphne Marrat, Head of the ICRC mission in Yemen, expressed: "We are pleased to see that humanitarian considerations have been prioritized, especially as this step brings joy to the hearts of families eagerly awaiting the return of their loved ones."

She continued: "We hope that this gesture will pave the way for more releases, bringing an end to the suffering of families who long for the reunion with their relatives."

The ICRC reiterated its commitment to providing humanitarian services to those detained for reasons related to the conflict in Yemen and their families, as well as supporting their release when authorized by the detaining authorities, as was the case today

The statement further clarified that the ICRC had conducted "a health assessment of the released individuals and verified their ability to travel overland."

The International Committee of the Red Cross welcomed the unilateral release operation and praised the previous ones, calling it a "positive step" toward revitalizing negotiations under the "Stockholm Agreement."
