Saudi Arabia Approves Direct Flights from Sana’a to Jeddah for Yemeni Pilgrims
flights from Sana’a International Airport to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to facilitate the travel of Yemeni pilgrims for the Hajj season this year.

The decision reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to serving pilgrims from across the globe and ensuring their safety, particularly Yemeni pilgrims who have long faced difficult conditions due to the ongoing conflict and the restrictions imposed by the Houthi militia on movement and travel.

Yemeni Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Dr. Mohammed Aida Shabiba, expressed his deep appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their continued support. He described the move as a brotherly initiative that will significantly ease the burden on Yemeni pilgrims, many of whom have endured long and difficult overland journeys in recent years.

Dr. Shabiba emphasized that this step underscores the Kingdom’s leading humanitarian and religious role and its efforts to stand by the Yemeni people during these challenging times. He also highlighted that direct flights from Sana’a will reduce both the financial and logistical strain on pilgrims and ensure safer, more dignified access to the holy sites.

The new air route is expected to enhance the overall pilgrimage experience and support Yemen’s ability to organize and manage its Hajj missions more effectively under current circumstances.
