Islah Party Leader: "We faced two threats… now only one" – Is the end of the Iran-Israel double threat near?
In its first official comment on the escalating war between Israel and Iran, Yemen's Islah Party broke its silence through its Media Department head, Ali Al-Jaradi. In a post on social media, Al-Jaradi stated: "The region used to face two threats, but in the future, it will face only one." His words were seen as a hint that the Iran-Israel conflict could eliminate one of the longstanding threats to regional security.
Al-Jaradi’s remarks sparked widespread engagement across Yemeni social media, drawing praise from a broad spectrum of political and social actors. Many saw his statement as reflective of a popular Yemeni sentiment that views both Tehran and Tel Aviv as shared enemies of the Arab people and Islamic sanctities.
Despite strong support for the Palestinian cause, Yemenis consistently reject any sympathy for Iran’s regime, which they accuse of fueling the war in Yemen through direct military and financial support to the Houthi militias. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah are said to have played a destructive role, contributing to mass killings and the displacement of millions.
Yemenis argue that Iran’s involvement in Palestine is not driven by genuine support, but rather by sectarian and expansionist motives, which have destabilized multiple Arab nations.
