Yemen Launches E-Visa System Backed by U.S. to Boost Border Security and Facilitate Entry
The Yemen Immigration and Passport Authority, headquartered in interim capital Aden, officially launched a new electronic visa system today, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and with funding support from the United States.

The system marks a significant step in the government's digital transformation efforts and is aligned with Presidential Leadership Council directives to strengthen border security and modernize immigration services.

Advanced Platform Now Live
According to Deputy Director Maj. Gen. Abduljabbar Salem, the system is now live and accessible via the official website:

Arab and foreign nationals can now apply for entry visas online, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.

Salem noted that 85% of immigration-related services have been automated, including passport issuance, nationality services, residency permits, and border control systems.

Salem praised the support of President Rashad Al-Alimi, Interior Minister Ibrahim Haidan, and Authority Head Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Ramli, adding that the system will help combat illegal immigration and terrorism, while maintaining international standards.

He also highlighted the vital role of Saudi-led Coalition forces in facilitating the transport of equipment, enabling the project's success.
