U.S. Pressures Force Iraq and Oman to Restrict Houthi Activities
Reliable sources revealed that the United States has requested the Iraqi government to shut down the Houthi office in Baghdad, which reportedly coordinates with the Popular Mobilization Forces.
Similarly, reports indicate that Washington has exerted similar pressure on the Sultanate of Oman, leading Muscat to issue a decision requiring the Houthi delegation, led by the group’s spokesperson Mohammed Abdul Salam, to leave its territory within a few days. Sources explained that this sudden decision comes in response to increasing U.S. and international pressure on Oman, which had hosted the Houthi delegation for negotiations for years.
In parallel with these developments, Houthi leadership in Sana'a is reportedly making intensive efforts to persuade Omani officials to reverse the decision. However, indications suggest the decision is final, amid rising international pressure to isolate the group and hold it accountable for its military escalation and threats to international shipping.
These measures are part of a broader international effort to curb the Houthis, who face accusations of advancing an Iranian agenda, escalating regional tensions, and threatening regional security and stability.
