Military Expert Dr. Ali Ezheb: The Houthi Movement as a Colonial Tool with a Future Linked to Complex Regional and Global Dynamics
Military and strategic expert Dr. Ali Ezher stated that the Houthi militia serves as a colonial tool, used by some regional countries and global powers to serve their strategic interests. In an interview on the "Evening Talk" program on "Yemen Youth" channel, Ezher emphasized that the Houthi presence poses a significant threat to Yemen's security and stability, contributing to internal division and increasing the likelihood of the south's secession.
Dr. Ezher noted that the Houthis are much weaker than they are often portrayed, and that eliminating them is not a difficult task. However, he explained that this process is linked to complex regional issues, citing developments in the Red Sea and Russia's role in responding to U.S. intervention in the Ukraine war as examples of how regional crises can be intertwined with broader global conflicts.
Finally, Ezher ruled out the possibility of a firm international decision to eliminate the Houthi threat in the near future. He predicted that this issue might be postponed until the new U.S. administration takes office on January 20, with a potential shift in strategies regarding the Houthis.
