Yemeni Government Plans Major Cabinet Reshuffle to Address Performance Issues and Strengthen Political Balance
A British newspaper has revealed that the internationally recognized Yemeni government is preparing for a wide-ranging reshuffle, excluding key sovereign ministries such as Defense, Finance, and Foreign Affairs. This reshuffle is part of the government's efforts to address the ongoing collapse and weak performance.
The proposed changes, suggested by the Prime Minister, will affect 13 out of 26 ministries, in addition to the appointment of two deputy prime ministers, one from the north and the other from the south, to maintain political balance within the legitimate Yemeni government, which is fighting the Iran-backed Houthi militias, according to "Independent Arabia."
The legitimacy of the Yemeni government is diverse in its factions and political backgrounds, which the government seeks to address while considering the newly emerging forces on the ground, such as the National Resistance led by Colonel Tariq Saleh, the nephew of the late Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh, who will have a new representative in the planned reshuffle.
