Iranian Official: "A Friendly Country Warned Us of Potential Israeli Strike
A senior Iranian official revealed on Thursday that a “friendly country in the region” had warned Iran of a possible Israeli military strike. The identity of the country was not disclosed, but the report has gained significant traction in Turkish media outlets.
The revelation coincides with Western media reports suggesting that Israel is seriously considering a unilateral military action against Iran, amid ongoing indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington over limiting Iran’s nuclear activities.
According to U.S. sources, Israel may carry out the operation without American support, due to growing concerns over potential concessions being offered to Iran in the ongoing talks. Tel Aviv reportedly views any compromise on uranium enrichment as unacceptable.
Analysts suggest that recent U.S. decisions to evacuate non-essential personnel from diplomatic missions in the region could indicate a silent green light for Israeli action. Michael Knights of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy noted that the move might signal to Tehran that Washington would not necessarily block an Israeli strike.
