U.S. Offers $10 Million Reward for Yemen’s al-Qaeda Leader
The United States has announced a $10 million reward for information leading to the location or arrest of Saad bin Atif al-Awlaki, the current leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).

The announcement was made through the "Rewards for Justice" program under the U.S. State Department, signaling growing American concerns over the resurgence of terrorist activity in Yemen. Al-Awlaki, who assumed leadership in 2024, is accused of planning attacks against U.S. and Western interests and of involvement in previous kidnappings.

Additional rewards include:

$5 million for information on Ibrahim al-Banna.

$4 million for information on Ibrahim Ahmed Mahmoud al-Qosi.

The U.S. affirms that AQAP remains a significant threat to national security, especially amid Yemen’s ongoing instability.
