EU and Turkey to Revive Economic Dialogue After Six-Year Hiatus
After a six-year hiatus, the European Union (EU) and Turkey are set to resume their "High-Level Economic Dialogue" meeting, planned for March and April this year. EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Marta Koss, announced that the EU aims to strengthen its economic partnership with Turkey during this period.

Speaking at the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee meeting in Brussels, Koss commended Turkey's efforts in supporting refugees, emphasizing that the EU highly values and recognizes these contributions. She also highlighted that the EU decided last year to enhance its dialogue with Turkey across various strategic areas.

The last High-Level Economic Dialogue meeting between the two sides took place on February 28, 2019, in Istanbul. This upcoming meeting marks a significant step toward reinforcing economic cooperation between the EU and Turkey.

In a related development, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made an official visit to Turkey last December, where she met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The discussions covered regional developments, including the situation in Syria, along with an exchange of positive messages regarding strengthening economic cooperation in the near future.
