Houthis Bomb Civilian Homes in Taiz, Blow Up House with Explosives

The Houthi militia launched artillery attacks targeting residential areas in Taiz governorate, particularly striking the Al-Zanouj neighborhood and surrounding areas near the Air Defense Camp, sparking widespread fear and panic among local residents.

In a horrifying escalation, the group detonated the home of citizen Majid Ghalib in the Shaqab area of Saber Al-Mawadem district, using powerful explosive devices.

The targeted house is located below Al-Salihin Hill, which the Houthis have turned into a military site used to shell neighboring villages and civilians.

Local sources confirmed that these attacks are part of a recurring pattern aimed at subjugating local populations and punishing them for alleged support of government forces.

In a related development, a human rights monitoring committee in Shaqab reported that this incident brings the total number of homes blown up by the Houthi militia in the area to 125 houses.

The committee described these acts as part of a deliberate policy of intimidation, revealing that the targeted citizen was among several previously accused of backing the National Army.

According to the same report, since September 2015, a total of 125 homes have been fully destroyed in Shaqab and surrounding areas, including 28 houses belonging to individuals accused of supporting the legitimate government. Additionally, 567 homes have suffered partial damage, underscoring the ongoing scale of violations committed by the group against civilians.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms condemned the bombing of Majid Ali Mohammed Abdullah Ghalib's house, calling it a terrorist act against unarmed civilians in the southeast of Taiz governorate.
