Senior Houthi Leader Arrested on Espionage Charges After Surviving Israeli Airstrike in Sana’a

The Houthi security and intelligence apparatus has arrested senior figure Taha Mohsen Nasser al-San’ani, also known as Abu Raghib, on charges of spying for foreign entities, primarily Israel. His sudden departure from a high-level meeting just minutes before it was struck by an air raid raised suspicions within the group. The strike killed the Houthi prime minister and nine ministers.

According to informed sources, al-San’ani held sensitive posts including Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, Head of the Security and Defense Committee, and Member of the Al-Aqsa Committee, maintaining direct ties with top Houthi leaders.

Intelligence experts suggest the precision strike was based on intercepted communications or digital tracking of al-San’ani’s movements, revealing the meeting’s exact location in southern Sana’a.

Houthi internal investigations are now focusing on identifying the source of the security breach that enabled one of the most successful airstrikes against the group’s leadership since the war began.
