According to a statement by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden made this decision after visiting Los Angeles, where he met with emergency responders and firefighting teams.

Power Outages and School Closures

Nearly one million homes and businesses in Los Angeles County have been left without power due to the fires. Additionally, all schools in the county have been closed until at least Thursday, as efforts to manage the crisis continue.
